Melissa Cui Domingo tragically lost her life at the hands of her ex-husband during a custody exchange, where he fatally shot both Melissa and her mother, Elizabeth Cui Domingo, in front of her 5-year-old son. 

Just one month before the shooting, Melissa had been diagnosed with both battered woman syndrome and PTSD by court experts after all of the physical, mental, and sexual abuse she faced by her ex-husband. Two witnesses told the court they’d seen evidence of her Ex acting controlling towards her. Just one month later, she was killed.

Melissa is remembered as a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.
