Trial Outcome
Daniel Krug was charged with first degree murder after deliberation, stalking and emotional distress, stalking and threats with repeated communication, and criminal impersonation. In April 2025, Daniel was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

"This was a brutal, calculated murder, preceded by months of manipulation, emotional abuse, and deception. In planning and executing this horrific crime, Daniel Krug terrorized his wife, his children, and an innocent man—all in order to control and then murder a woman who no longer wanted to be with him,” said District Attorney Brian Mason.
Kristil’s Law
In early 2026, Rep. Kevin Mannix, R-District 21 of Oregon, proposed legislation that will make it safer for victims of stalking and domestic violence. The legislation is called "Kristil's law," named for Kristil Krug, and is proposed in Oregon where Kristil’s cousin, Becky Ivanoff, is a former Lane County prosecutor. The bill would require communication companies to return search warrants within 48 hours in the case of domestic violence and stalking. If passed, Oregon would be the first state in the nation to have this type of law. The hope is that this would set a precedent for the nation. Read more >>
